Fed: PM should consider visiting North Korea, Crean
CANBERRA, Jan 13 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard should consider travelling to Pyongyangto help calm the stand-off between North Korea and the United States, the federal oppositionsaid today.
A delegation of Australian diplomats will arrive in the country tomorrow but OppositionLeader Simon Crean called for higher level discussions.
The attempt at diplomacy comes as North Korea threatened stronger self-defensive measuresif any sanctions were imposed over its decision to pull out of the nuclear Non-ProliferationTreaty.
It also threatened to resume missile testing.
