MAYOR ALVAREZ TO LAUNCH WIRELESS SERVICE ON MIAMI-DADE TRANSIT

Miami-Dade County, Fla., Feb. 22 -- The office of the mayor of Miami-Dade County issued the following news release:

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez, Miami-Dade Transit and Enterprise Technology Services are launching free wireless service on all Metrorail and Metromover cars, and select Metrobus routes. The countywide launch is an expansion of the Mayor's Wireless Miami-Dade Initiative, which brought free wireless service to Goulds, Tamiami and Tropical parks.

"Residents and visitors who use Miami-Dade Transit will be able to access the Internet through their laptops or other mobile devices. Not only are we improving commute time and accessibility to venues throughout the community, but we're enhancing the transit experience," said Mayor Alvarez.
